Water Quality in the Fall
Posted on: October 18, 2016
Fish benefit from good water quality. In order to maintain good water quality during the fall season, plant debris and fallen leaves should to be removed from your water feature. The leaves are slowly beginning to fall and those that fall into the pond or waterfall can alter the quality of the water. The easiest way to prevent leaves from getting into your pond and waterfall is to invest into a pond net that drapes over the pond and stops them from getting in. If you do not have pond netting but would like one, just let us know before your fall shut down and we will be sure to bring one with us. If you prefer not to have pond netting, a long pole skimmer or pond vacuum can be used to get out the leaves as well. There are numerous things to consider when properly closing your pond for the winter season. Jackson Pond will make sure you receive proper pond care so that next year’s pond opening runs smoothly.
